According to WMTW, police have identified the victims in the shooting this morning (July 5) in Madison. The report said that Carroll Tuttle Jr., 51, shot and killed his wife Lori Haden, 52 and his son, Dustin Tuttle, 25, and both of those deaths have been classified as domestic violence homicides. The report added that Carroll Tuttle Jr., who was later shot and killed in a confrontation with Somerset County deputies,  also shot and killed Michael Spaulding, 57 and wounded Harvey Austin, 57. Police are still trying to determine a motive for the shootings of Spaulding and Austin.

State Police say four people have been shot to death and a fourth person wounded in shootings this morning (July 5) at several locations along Russell Road in Madison.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, three people were killed in the incident and a fourth person wounded. Somerset County Deputies then confronted the gunman nearby and he was shot and killed . No police officers were injured, McCausland added.

A team of State Police detectives are investigating  the shootings, along with the Somerset Sheriff’s Office.

According to McCausland, the Attorney General’s Office  have also sent a group of their investigators to the scene to review the shots fired by the deputies.  The shootings were reported just after 7:30am, McCausland said.

Russell Road is closed to traffic near the shooting scenes and likely to remain closed for the remainder of the day.
