One of Maine’s Coolest Ice Cream Spots Is a Renovated Lobster Boat
We've all seen cute little ice cream stands before. But this one might be one of the coolest I've come across.
Right next to the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound in Bar Harbor, Maine, you'll find The Ice Cream Boat. And yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. Instead of building a regular ice cream shop, they took an old lobster boat and turned it into one.
It Might Be the Coolest Ice Cream Stop in Maine
The boat sits right outside the restaurant, so it's hard to miss. What used to be a working lobster boat is now the place to grab a scoop while you're exploring Bar Harbor.
After having lobster, or even the lobster nachos, at the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound right next door, The Ice Cream Boat is the perfect place to grab dessert. It's definitely not something you see every day, and that's what makes it so fun.
Sure, there are plenty of places to get ice cream in Maine, but how many can say they're serving it from an actual renovated boat?
If you're already planning a trip to Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor, this is one of those stops that's worth checking out. Even if you only stop for a cone and a quick photo, it's the kind of place you'll probably end up telling people about when you get home.
