One of the world's most memed cats has passed away.

Dubbed "Grumpy Cat" because of her facial expression due to an underbite and dwarfism, Grumpy Cat, whose actual name is Tard (short for Tarter sauce), ended up on Reddit in 2012 and became an internet sensation according to grumpycats.com. From there Grumpy Cat has been featured on Good Morning America, Today, American Idol, and more.

According to Grumpy Cat's Twitter (which has 1.5 million followers) and Instagram (2.5 million followers) she passed away Tuesday morning (May 14th) after complications from a urinary tract infection.
