As a Mama, I know there are two different kinds of beach days, one requires military level Mom planning and probably a butt-load of stress, and the other is casual and easy.

The second barely happens, but when it does, it’s the best and Ferry Beach in Scarborough on 50 ferry Road gives you that second day kind of feel and amen for that.

Let me tell you why, and you can see this too, thanks to a recent post from our girls at Real Maine Mom Guide, low tide turns this beautiful beach into a giant summer dream.

And honestly? It’s not because of fancy amenities or attractions. Its because during low tide in no time, your kids will be plopped in the sand, beachcombing for shells, hunting for creatures, making sandcastles and splashing in the tide pools, and so on.

I've always had a weird hang up about lakes.

Let me be honest, they're beautiful, sure, but I can't help thinking about everything living in there... and everything that's happened in there. Like all the fish pee. I said it.

Meanwhile, the ocean is somehow different in my mind. Same concept, significantly larger water budget..but more clean, you know?

But the best part is how easy it can be.

I’m talking one tote bag. That's it. It’s ridiculously easy and stress free. Real Maine Mom Guide shared they keep one tote ready to go all summer for this spot, stocked with everything your little fishies need.

And if there is anything you have forgotten, you can make a stop at Higgins Beach Market.

Two words, simple summer. If you’re anything like me, that’s the type of beach day this mama wants.
