One of the best ways I could have started my summer was with a sunset kayak tour through Sebago Trails Paddling Co. with my friends. Based in Raymond, Maine, the company specializes in guided kayak and paddleboard tours, rentals, lessons, and outdoor adventures that allow visitors to experience the beauty of the Sebago Lake region from the water. Their tours combine recreation, nature, and local history, making them a great option for both beginners and experienced paddlers.

I broke the summer in by going on the kayak sunset tour, and it was absolutely amazing. The weather was perfect, there were surprisingly no bugs, and the entire experience felt peaceful from start to finish. We kayaked through a narrow waterway surrounded by lush greenery, and the scenery was breathtaking. Paddling through the calm water with trees lining both sides was so much fun and made me appreciate how beautiful Maine really is.

The highlight of the trip was when Bill Allen, the owner and tour guide, timed everything perfectly so we could paddle out onto Sebago Lake (northern end of Jordan Bay) just as the sun was setting. Watching the pink and orange colors reflect across the water was absolutely gorgeous and exactly how I wanted to start my summer. Throughout the tour, Bill shared interesting historical facts about the area as well as fascinating information about the local wildlife and environment. There was never a dull moment, and his knowledge made the experience even more memorable.

One thing I really reflected on during the experience was how important it is, even as a local, to get out and do the “touristy” things in your own state. Sometimes we overlook the attractions that visitors travel to see because they are right in our backyard. This tour reminded me just how beautiful Maine is and how special it is to experience its lakes, wildlife, and scenery from a different perspective. Getting to explore and appreciate the beauty of our home state made the experience even more meaningful and memorable.

Overall, Sebago Trails Paddling Co. offers much more than just a kayak tour, it provides an unforgettable outdoor experience. Between the stunning scenery, relaxing atmosphere, and knowledgeable guides, it is a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Maine and create lasting memories with friends.

The Most Expensive House For Sale in Maine Sits on Sebago Lake

Houses that line the coast of Maine are usually the most expensive, like the former 'most expensive' listing that is still on the market in Camden. But the new front-runner has a view of Sebago Lake. It's a beautiful, waterfront property with an absolutely stunning house.
