The state's largest park received accolades from Curated, which highlighted the renowned Knife Edge Trail on Mount Katahdin as one of the most difficult hiking routes in the United States.

Stretching 1.1 miles from the summit of Mount Katahdin to South Peak, the trail then connects to Dudley Trail.

Classified as a "hard" route on All Trails, it has earned a 4.5 out of 5 rating, despite its tough and potentially dangerous reputation.

Hikers are treated to breathtaking vistas of Baxter State Park and the surrounding wilderness, all from some of the highest points in Maine.

This trail is not for the faint of heart—trust me on that.

I was brave enough to tackle it when I was younger, but now, in my middle years, there's no way I'd attempt it again.

That said, if you have the nerve, it’s undoubtedly an adventure worth taking. It's an unforgettable experience.
