Remember when Portland had, like, four hotels?

It really wasn’t even that long ago, if you think about it. It seems like it’s been over the last two decades that we’ve seen a massive influx of development. And amazingly enough, all of these beautiful new hotels have been quite the success story. In fact, they’ve been so successful that even more hotels are being built as we speak.

Portland, Maine, Continues its Major Development Project

I’ll never forget hearing, back in the early 2010s, that many people thought Portland was close to being oversaturated with hotels. Boy, was that theory off.

The Old Port, East End, and West End are now dotted with beautiful, trendy inns that have completely reshaped the city’s dynamic and skyline. Even Thompson’s Point is getting in on the action with a soon-to-open hotel that will be perfect for summer concertgoers.

What are the Most Popular Hotels in Portland, Maine?

So, with the heavy tourist season right around the corner, I decided to check out TripAdvisor’s Maine page to see what outsiders think about this massive hotel industry — and which joints are giving folks the best experience. I looked at the site’s latest “Best of” list, which ranks hotels based on several factors, including popularity and guest reviews.
