Despite a lengthy list of restaurant closures recently, Portland, Maine, is still considered to be a very hot culinary destination. Foodies are willing to travel from near and far to check out some of the best places to eat in Maine's largest city.

But it's not just foodies. Portland has become a place that Food Network as well as celebrity chefs recognize as burgeoning. Which is why Portland is one of a handful of stops on a cruise called 'Chefs Making Waves'.

The cruise will set sail out of Boston on October 24, 2025 and arrive in Portland on October 26. On board the cruise there will chef demonstrations, curated dinners as well as other events that highlight all things cooking.

Typically, when a cruise makes a stop, people disembark to explore the city. That means you could spot one of these celebrity chefs strolling through Portland on October 26, 2025
