The Dunkin’ Location in the Scarborough, Maine, Walmart is Never Going to Reopen
When shoppers walk into a Walmart Supercenter, there's an expectation of convenience. Supercenters offer more than just a standard Walmart. From a full grocery store to other amenities as well.
The Scarborough, Maine, location of Walmart is a prime example. The Supercenter offers a vision care specialist as well as a place to get your haircut. And for several years, it also offered shoppers a chance to grab their favorite Dunkin' coffee right inside the store.
But in late April, the Dunkin' location at the Walmart Supercenter in Scarborough went dark. Listings on both Facebook and Google for the business claimed that it was "temporarily closed". The same is listed on the Dunkin' website without any further explanation as to why it would be closed or when it may reopen.
Fast forward three months later and not only is the Dunkin' location inside the Scarborough, Maine, Walmart closed, but it's pretty clear that it is never going to reopen. Everything related to Dunkin' has been removed from the area. From the signature color scheme to any promotional materials talking about new drinks or items at the store.
There isn't any available information as to what caused the closure. It could be a simple business decision, the end of a lease inside the store or a possible staffing issue that was causing headaches.
It does appear that the space is available and ready to be taken over by another convenient business. A different coffee shop? Tax prep service? Quick service lunch? It likely won't be long before that space is filled again.
