All 3 Eddie Bauer Stores in Maine Are Closing Permanently
The end is almost here for another major outdoor apparel retail chain.
Earlier this month, Eddie Bauer announced that it would be closing almost their entire footprint of brick-and-mortar stores in the United States and Canada following a bankruptcy ruling.
According to Retail Dive, Eddie Bauer has already begun closing the majority of their stores nationwide, including their location at the Maine Mall in South Portland as well as locations at the Kittery Outlets and in Augusta.
Eddie Bauer Has Put a Deadline On Using Gift Cards and Loyalty Points at Maine Stores
According to Ground News, as Eddie Bauer liquidates inventory and continues to shut down stores across the country, they've also placed a firm deadline on honoring gift cards and loyalty points to the brand.
That deadline is March 12.
Some Eddie Bauer stores are expected to stay open into April but the company will no longer honor gift cards or loyalty points at any of their brick-and-mortar locations beyond the March 12 deadline.
All 3 Eddie Bauer Locations in Maine Could Close at Any Time
At its height, Eddie Bauer operated more than 200 stores across the United States. The retailer has already closed dozens of them.
Eddie Bauer's three locations in Maine could close at any time based on staffing and inventory at the company's discretion. Liquidation sales appear to be ongoing at all Maine locations as of this writing.
The Seattle-based retailer looks like it will still exist primarily in the e-commerce sector moving forward. There will still be select Eddie Bauer physical locations in major cities.
