American Idol Contestant Julia Gagnon in Top 7

Here in the Northeast, we have been over the moon about Julia Gagnon's success so far on American Idol.  Her family and friends have been voting, posting the love on social media and laughing along with her as she takes on the comments from keyboard critics.

The whole world now knows that Julia was adopted.  To say that her parents, Jim and Meg Gagnon, are proud of her, is an understatement.

This Sunday, American Idol is on again on Sunday night at 8pm, and we will be watching.  As a matter of fact, her local fans have been organizing "Watch Parties," and they encourage others to do the same thing.

Julia's performances on the show have been so amazing to watch.  It takes a confident girl to take on a Whitney Houston song.

This is the performance that brings me to tears, and I've watched it so many times.  Lionel Richie was also blown away by Julia (and still is).  Her birth mother, Sara, must be bursting with love.

No matter what happens from here, Julia Gagnon has arrived.  That girl was meant to sing!  From what I see on the TV and what people are telling me, she is one special human being.

Scotty McCreery's Dad Remembers Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Eliot, Maine

What can I say?  The Northeast is full of talent.  Scotty McCreery was the winner of American Idol in 2011.  His Dad, Mike McCreery, grew up in the area.

American Idol is inspirational, even now.  The show started decades ago now, and people have grown up watching dreams come true for so many.

They are all friends in the Top 7.  The excitement of everything that is happening right now is something they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Carrie Underwood invested her money wisely after winning American Idol in 2005. One of her first big purchases was a 3,099-square-foot home in the well-to-do Nashville suburb of Franklin, Tenn. Underwood paid $384,000 for a luxurious 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom stone and stucco home in a private gated community.

The house features a library, a vaulted ceiling and lovely amenities throughout, but while it's very nice, it's certainly not the kind of home you'd picture for a budding country superstar. Underwood wound up being a huge success right out of the gate with her debut album, Some Hearts, and she sold the home in Franklin for $372,500 in 2007, when she purchased the Brentwood mansion that she would later share with her husband, Mike Fisher.
