It's no secret that we have a loud and proud foodie population here in New England, and with good reason. Our restaurant industry is killing it, and there's never a shortage of new establishments opening their doors to the public. You can never run out of places to visit for your next dining experience, especially in New Hampshire.

When it comes to food, there's nothing like the classic comfort options. These dishes are often sentimental and nostalgic in nature, and remind you of childhood days when calories didn't matter and you could eat to your heart's content. This writer's favorite comfort food would have to be mac & cheese, cause come on. It's mac & cheese.

Cheapism, a digital blog, recently shared this list of the best comfort food restaurants in each state. Their choice for New Hampshire is an extremely popular seafood spot right on the coast of Rye, New Hampshire.

Tourists and locals alike are constantly flocking to Petey's. The year-round seafood shack has served the "finest and freshest seafood" for over 30 years, and is home to "New Hampshire's best lobster roll", according to their website. The shack is located just down the road from Wallis Sands Beach, so it's the perfect place to stop before, during, or after a beach day.

Yours truly cannot recall a time when the parking lot at Petey's wasn't jam-packed, and with good reason. Hungry guests love stopping by to dine on fresh seafood, including clams, shrimp, haddock, and of course, lobster. If you need further proof that the restaurant is worth the hype, check out this picture of their delicious eats.
