A man who police say assaulted workers at the Walgreens store in Rochester Thursday night while stealing medications was taken into custody shortly after fleeing the store.

Rochester Police said Gabriel King, 18, of Rochester went into the store on Main Street around 9:50 p.m., forcefully took the drugs, and caused damage to the store as he left. Police searched the area around the store and located King and the medications.

King was taken into custody and charged with robbery (felony), falsifying physical evidence (felony), and criminal mischief (misdemeanor). King has been placed under preventative detention pending his arraignment. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
