Joe Cupo has been a fixture in Maine television news since 1979. The weatherman has been giving Mainers the forecast for 37 years with the Portland television station WCSH Channel 6. Joe Cupo is leaving WCSH,  his last day will be April 22.

Cupo has taken a voluntary retirement package being offered by the station’s owner, TEGNA Media.

Cupo is one of nine employees at WCSH AND WLBZ to take an early retirement package. Longtime weatherman at WLBZ, Steve McKay, also has decided to leave.
