Lewiston, Maine Home Busted For 3rd Time For Illegal Drugs

Over the last couple of decades, the work it takes to keep drugs off the streets of Maine has likely tripled.

It's no secret that the drug epidemic has reached a fever pitch, not just here in Maine, but all around the country. And now, local police departments, drug enforcement agencies, sheriff's offices and state police units are working overtime to try and curb the drugs that have flooded our towns.

And now, according to local police, the third search warrant in just the last 8 months has been served at the same Lewiston, Maine home. WGME 13 is reporting that the house, located at 149 College Street, was searched on Tuesday. Police say the search, and the warrant obtained to execute the search, is part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the area.

WGME 13 went on to report that during the search, police were able to confiscate 46.1 grams of deadly fentanyl, 9.1 grams of meth, 19.6 grams of crack cocaine as well as $4,028 in cash which police believe to be revenue from drug sales.

Following the search of the College Street residence, police took five people into custody and charged them with various drug-related crimes.

According to arrest records from the Lewiston Police and Androscoggin County Jail, the following people were arrested and charged;

• Lucas Messer, 39, of Auburn, was charged with aggravated trafficking of fentanyl and two counts of unlawful trafficking.

• Keosha Craig-Pontoo, 33, of Lewiston was charged with aggravated trafficking of fentanyl and violation of conditions of release.

• Derek Demers, 42, of Lewiston was charged with theft for an outstanding warrant.

• Natasha Walker, 35, of Lewiston, was charged with theft and violation of conditions of release for an outstanding warrant. Walker was also on probation for felony theft convictions.

• Cheryl Seaborne, 35, Lewiston was charged with violation of conditions of release.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
