Several in Custody After Shots Ring Out in Lewiston, Maine

Several people are in custody following reports of shots fire in the city of Lewiston, Maine on Monday afternoon in the area of Knox Street.

According to an article published by WABI TV 5, a Lewiston Police Officer was out on patrol at around 4p in the area of 66 Knox Street. That's when the officer reported hearing gunshots in the area.

While investigating the gunshots, it is being reported that the officer was "confronted by several armed suspects". In addition, the officer said he noticed someone suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Fortunately, there was an off-duty officer that was in the area that was able to help detain several unnamed suspects.
