Lil Wayne Apologizes After Missing Maine Concert

Lil Wayne has rescheduled his Bangor concert after he did not appear for his scheduled performance Tuesday night at Maine Savings Amphitheater.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper was supposed to headline the first stop of his “20 Years of Carter Classics” tour, which is considered an extension of his 2025 Carter VI Tour. Thousands of fans were at the waterfront venue waiting for the show when they were told around 11 p.m. that Lil Wayne would not be performing, WMTW reported.

According to WABI, Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray apologized to the crowd and said something like this had never happened before in more than 250 shows. Gray told fans the venue had asked the city for a curfew extension and had done everything possible to try to make the performance happen.

The concert began with 2 Chainz performing as scheduled. After that, a DJ played for several hours while fans waited for Lil Wayne. Eventually, the crowd was dismissed without the headliner taking the stage.

The news station reported that Lil Wayne later posted an apology to his Facebook and Instagram stories, writing, “My Maine fans, I’m so sorry.” He told fans to hold on to their tickets, saying they will be honored for the rescheduled date.

The Bangor show has now been moved to July 28, with more information expected to be emailed directly to ticket holders.

Lil Wayne’s next scheduled performances are in Saratoga Springs, New York, and Gilford, New Hampshire. Maine Savings Amphitheater’s next scheduled show is Friday with Godsmack and Stone Temple Pilots.
