Testing, testing! Is this thing on? Good, cuz I have to tell you all about a wicked-cool experience I had over the weekend.

For starters, 'hi', Matt James here. You might know me from the radio, but I'm also a Maine wedding DJ and have been part of hundreds of weddings over the last couple of decades. For me, it's not really about the money, it's about getting to play such an important role in the biggest moments of someone's life.

And in the years that I've been doing this, I have had the absolute privilege to play at some of the most beautiful and unique wedding venues anywhere in the country.

And newsflash, the most beautiful wedding venues anywhere are right here in Maine.

Though I've played so many different venues, there are a select few that are very near and dear to my heart. From Harmony Hill to Grace on The Lake and Sunset Meadows to the Grove in Newport, I have built some great relationships with some amazing business owners.

And now, I'm happy to add another one to the list. This weekend I got to be part of the FIRST wedding to ever be held at Skowhegan's 'Barn @ Loon Cove'.

Situated on the Waterville Road along the shores of the mighty Kennebec River, The Barn @ Loon Cove is the newest barn-style venue in Central Maine.

Breanna Whiting and her family have done an incredible job turning this 1800s barn that used to sit on a golf course into what is sure to become one of the most desired wedding locations in the state.
