Can You Help Three Month Old ‘Captain’ Find a Furever Maine Home?
We're so lucky here in Central Maine to have the new Kennebec Valley Humane Society. Thanks in part to Nancy Shuman, the Charlie's Family of dealerships and community members like you, the new building on the Leighton Road in Augusta is able to help more animals than ever before.
But just because they are able to help more animals doesn't mean the mission of finding them all new homes has gotten any easier. Let me be clear, if I thought I could add to my household of three boys, two goldens and a cat without losing my mind, I would adopt all the doggos. However, my Doc says he can't increase my Lexapro dose any more than he already has so- no luck.
Even though my funny farm has run out of vacancy for a new animal doesn't mean yours has! Every month or two I find myself wandering over to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society website to take a look at dogs. I find that I'm partially looking to see which new dogs are up for adoption as well as looking to see which dogs I saw a month ago have been adopted.
While I was perusing the site this morning, I came across a young pup. Like a really young pup who is in search of his forever, err furever, home. His name is Captain and he's about three months old.
Captain is a small border collie mix and is such a handsome boy. He has been neutered and, according to KVHS, is currently chilling with a foster family while he awaits his permanent residence.
Captain's foster family said about him in part,
Captain is such an easygoing pup. He loves his soccer ball and is always eager to play. He learned to sit for a treat very quickly, and we have been working on teaching him to give his paw, though he hasn't mastered that yet. He sits patiently and waits for his food well.
Additionally, Captain is well on his way to being potty trained and really enjoys nestling up for some cuddles on the couch. If this sounds like a puppers that would fit well into your household, reach out to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society and schedule a visit with Cpatain.
However, if you do adopt him, you're legally obligated to send me photos :)
