Maine Photographer Dave Dostie Captures Incredibly Mesmerizing Photos of Monday’s Eclipse
Years ago, when we first started writing about local photographer Dave Dostie, we would need to take time at the beginning of the article and introduce you to him.
Fast forward a few years and we would argue that there are very few people in Central Maine and beyond who don't know who he is.
But, just in case you're one of the few, allow me.
Dave Dostie, along with being one of the absolute nicest people you'll ever meet, is also an insanely talented photographer. Dave has captured profound images of the Northern Lights, sunsets, community events and, most recently, the total solar eclipse.
We had the chance to catch up with Dave this past weekend and he explained to us that he had been researching the path of totality and the cloud trends for weeks on end.
He knew he wanted to capture the most amazing images he could of the eclipse and, to do that, he was going to have to do his homework.
With so many different towns in Maine that were along that path of totality, Dostie finally came to the conclusion that the best place to not only watch the eclipse, but to photograph it too, was one of the most charming towns in all of Maine- Greenville.
Dave headed to the Moosehead region Sunday for a day/night of 'car camping' in preparation of Monday's wild events. And, in typical Dave Dostie Fashion, the results were incredible.
Thanks again to Dave for taking time out of his life to provide the rest of us with incredible photos of an incredible event!
