When we think about Thanksgiving our mind almost always go right to the food. Sure, gathering and seeing family is all well and good, but the real start of the show is the carbs, am I right?

We spent a good portion of our morning show on Monday talking about your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. As we figured, we got an array of answers, though there was one clear winner.

But first, let's dive into some honorable mentions.

Many of our listeners voiced their support for mashed potatoes. Rich and creamy, typically enhanced with butter, cream, and a pinch of salt, mashed spud fit perfectly with savory, homemade gravy. Our Memere always makes the gravy!

Next up, and not surprisingly at all, was stuffing. Of course there are MANY ways to make this traditional dish. whether with bread, celery, and onions or dressed up with sausage, apples, or cranberries, stuffing always hits the spot around the T-givs table.

Another common response from our audience was the ever-delicious dinner roll. Perfect for sopping up every last bit of gravy. And, if you're like me, you don't even care where they come from. Homemade or store-bought, as long as they're warm and buttery, it's all good. We actually started buying Kings Hawaiian sweet rolls over the last couple of years and the are bomb.

However, and kind of a surprise to me, our most mentioned and favorite side dish was green bean casserole, however, if you're super-cool, you just call it GBC. According to Wiki, GBC was created in the 1955s by a Campbell's Soup test kitchen.

The base features tender green beans, either fresh, frozen, or canned, mixed with a creamy sauce often made from condensed cream of mushroom soup. This mixture is then baked to perfection and crowned with a layer of crispy fried onions, which add a wicked-nice crunch to it.
