Are You Ready For Some Snow? Maine to See Winter Weather Mess Tuesday
Well, you can't be too surprised that we made it all the way to December before Central Maine ended up with plowable snow in the forecast.
To be honest with you, I didn't even realize there was snow in the forecast at all until Sunday night when I was in the recliner watching football when my wife asked if I had seen the snowfall map.
Much to me surprise, and chagrin, I had clearly missed the forecast update that was put out by just about every Maine (and New England) meteorologist. Sure enough, it looks like Maine is going to get dumped on for much of the day on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.
According to WGME 13, a winter storm watch starts on Tuesday morning for pretty much all of Maine and continues through Tuesday night as snow is expected to last all day and into the late hours of the night.
And because of the track of this early-season storm, it looks like Central and Southern Maine are going to pick up the brunt of the snowfall. But here's the kicker- depending on where you look, you will see vastly different snowfall totals for this storm.
Some outlets are being fairly modest with their predictions, indicating that we will see somewhere between 3-5 inches of snow here in Central Maine. However, other sources, like WGME, are saying that the same region is likely to see 5-10".
Either way, we can pretty much all agree that Tuesday and a part of Wednesday are going to be a mess. Will there be school? I don't friggin' know, I'm not a psychic. However, what I do know, is that you should gas up your snowblower and get ready to launch rocks at your house because the ground isn't frozen yet.
Happy winter. Where's the Tylenol?
