Maine High School Cancelling All Classes Tuesday Due to What’s Being Called a ‘Serious Threat’
With times the way they are, schools aren't willing to take any kind of threat lightly. That's why one Maine high school has made the decision to shut down for the remainder of the day Tuesday due to what's being called a 'serious threat' by officials.
According to a report from WGME 13, a student notified school administrators at Scarborough High School of a text message they had received that involved a threat from an unknown person.
School officials stated in part,
“We applaud the student who came forward to report the situation. The safety of our students and staff is of primary concern, and any threats of violence are taken very seriously”.
In addition to no classes, school officials also say there will be no 'school activities' on Tuesday either.
This is a developing situation and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available to us.
