
Maine Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting at Passing Cars
A man from Maine is in custody following a wild series of events that took place on Tuesday night, according to reports.
WGME reported that on Tuesday night just minutes after 9:30pm, police began receiving calls that there appeared to be a man that was opening fire on random cars that were driving down the street in Lewiston.
Police responded to calls for help and found that the alleged shooting was happening near Horton and Walnut Streets. When officers arrived on the scene, the man then got into a car, still armed with a weapon, and caused a standoff to unfold.
Fortunately, after an unspecified amount of time, police were able to take the male suspect into custody without anyone getting hurt. The news station is reporting that following the standoff, police arrested Troy Blanchard, 35.
WGME went on to report that Blanchard was charged with reckless conduct with a firearm, creating a police standoff, unlawful possession of scheduled W drug and possession of a firearm by prohibited person.
Following the arrest, Blanchard was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
