WMTW is reporting Monday morning that a man is dead following a crash that happened over the weekend at the Comfort Inn on Route 1 in Scarborough, Maine.

The news station is reporting that rescue crews got the call about a single-vehicle crash at the hotel at about 2:30 am on Sunday. When first responders arrived on scene they found the sole occupant of the vehicle unresponsive.

Crews began life-saving measures and the man was taken to Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. WMTW reports that the apparent driver of the car, Mudimbiyi Kalombo, 40, was also the only victim.

WMTW has reportedly reached out for further details regarding the crash, though those inquiries have yet to be returned. There's also no details on if any property at the Comfort Inn was damaged or if the driver may have become unresponsive prior to crashing.

This is a developing story that we will keep updated as more information becomes available to us in the coming days.

Our thoughts go out to the victim's friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
