Maine Man Arrested After Allegedly Chasing People With a Hockey Stick
It was anything but a typical Saturday afternoon in Lyman. According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, a man caused quite a scene outside the 7 Jackson’s Corner Store on Alfred Road, and it allegedly involved a hockey stick, a truck and more than a few dangerous weapons.
According to WGME, deputies say they got multiple calls about a man who was reportedly accosting customers and even chasing people through the parking lot with a hockey stick. Witnesses also told police the man got into his truck and continued to chase people from behind the wheel.
Before deputies could arrive, the suspect had taken off in a Dodge pickup. Police say they quickly spotted the truck on Alfred Road and pulled it over. The driver was identified as 64-year-old Randy Marcotte of Alfred, the news station reported.
Turns out, Marcotte was already out on bail, with strict conditions not to commit new crimes and not to possess any dangerous weapons. WGME went on to explain that when Deputies searched the truck and say they found the hockey stick used in the incident, along with two knives, a makeshift club, a hatchet, and a set of nunchucks.
Marcotte was arrested and is now facing multiple charges, including criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, violating his conditions of release, and driving to endanger. He was taken to the York County Jail, where he’s being held without bail.
