20-Year-Old Maine Motorcyclist in Serious Condition Following Sunday Crash
Motorcycles aren't just summer things here in the state of Maine. Often, you will see the die-hard riders out and about even in the middle of winter when the sun is out and the temperature cracks the freezing mark.
According to WGME 13, a Maine man from the town of Harpswell was out enjoying the warmer weekend weather on his motorcycle when he collided with a truck in the town of Brunswick.
The news station is reporting that the 20-year-old was riding his motorcycle northbound on Gurnet Road at around 3 pm on Sunday afternoon when he collided with a pickup truck that was turning onto Cluf Bay Road.
Though the rider WAS wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, he was still taken to the hospital with what are being considered serious injuries.
At this time, WGME did not have access to the names of the motorcyclist or the driver of the pickup truck involved in Sunday's crash. Additionally, it was unclear who was at fault in the accident and/or if speed was a factor in the crash.
This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available, either from WGME 13 or from the Brunswick, Maine Police Department.
