A 20-year-old motorcyclist from Greenwood is dead following a three-vehicle crash Monday evening in Raymond.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 85, also known as Webb’s Mills Road, and Tarkiln Hill Road.

Deputies say Seth Hodgkins was riding his motorcycle when a Toyota RAV4, driven by a 23-year-old Raymond man, made a left turn and entered Hodgkins’ lane. The two vehicles collided, and Hodgkins was thrown from his motorcycle. Authorities say he was then struck by a GMC Terrain driven by a 55-year-old man from Casco.

Hodgkins died at the scene. Officials say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

According to WGME, in addition to being a motorcyclist, Hodgkins served his community as an EMT with Buckfield Fire Rescue. Buckfield Fire Chief Blaquiere shared a heartfelt statement following the tragedy.

“Seth was more than just an EMT, he was a friend, a co-worker, and someone who answered the call to help others without hesitation. His commitment to serving his community and caring for those in need will never be forgotten,” Blaquiere said.

The chief added that Hodgkins’ loss is being deeply felt by his fellow first responders, friends, and family.

A GoFundMe page has been created to support Hodgkins’ family during this difficult time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
