Here’s How Much Snow Maine & New Hampshire Will Get on Thursday
Well sh*t, here we go again folks.
Guarantee this is the only forecast you're gonna see where the word sh*t is used. Won't see that on News Center Maine!
Anyway, whoever it is that is holding their crystals and begging for more snow, could you please dial back just a little bit?
Seriously, I have had my fair share of riding around in the plow truck this year. I'm over it and ready to put the plow away for the Harley. Thanks.
Anyways, our next big storm system is expected to move into the northern New England region this Thursday and looks to impact Maine and New Hampshire residents pretty much all day long.
Lucky us, right?
According to the forecast model from News Center Maine, this next batch of fun moves into the region overnight Wesnesday and Thursday morning. By 6 a.m. on Thursday morning, the entire region will be experiencing some form of precipitation.
News Center Maine is predicting wicked low temps for Thursday morning across the state including Augusta at 9 degrees, Lewiston at 10 degrees, Portland at 16 degrees and Bangor at 11 degrees.
While there are a couple of different models out right now, the general consensus is that there will be some mixing with sleet with this storm, especially down on the coastline and possible even inland.
By noontime on Thursday, some of the storm has ended in southern Maine, though the precipitation will continue for a couple more hours in Central and Northern parts of the state, according to News Center Maine.
New Hampshire will be pretty much precip free by lunchtime on Thursday, the news station reported, though cleanup will still need to happen following the accumulation.
As far as totals go, it's not going to be a blockbuster of a storm, though it will leave enough fresh powder behind that we're gonna have to venture outside to "deal with it."
According to News Center Maine, central and southern Maine will likely see 3-6 inches of snow while far northern Maine could pick up more closer to 10 inches.
If this doesn't do it for you, worry not, more snow is on the way this weekend and is expected to begin during the day on Saturday and carry into Sunday.
We will keep you updated on the weekend storm as it gets a little bit closer.
