Maine Police Cruiser Will Make You Do A Doubletake

According to WMTW, one of the police cruisers used by the Cumberland Police Department has Massachusetts license plates.

Apparently, the department had ordered a new 2020 Ford Interceptor, but the factory making parts for the vehicle had been temporarily shut down during the pandemic.  This caused a delay in the vehicle's delivery.

For now, in order to relieve strain on the department's small vehicle fleet, they are using a loaner vehicle.  It has been marked with the correct decals, is equipped with lights, and has the needed radio equipment installed.  And, it just happens to have Massachusetts license plates.

The department hopes to have it's new 2020 Ford Interceptor soon.
