According to WMTW News 8, police have seized a backpack full of drugs and cash in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

The news station is reporting that officers got word that a 61-year-old man, who was already wanted on multiple other charges, was staying at a home in the area. Police say they received this information via an anonymous tip.

The subject, Randy Monroe, 62 of Biddeford, already had a stack of warrants against him from charges ranging from domestic violence assault, unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs and failing to report, according to WMTW.

Because of the anonymous tip, as well as the existing warrants for arrest, Old Orchard Beach Police was able to track down Monroe and successfully take him into custody.

Upon arresting Monroe, officers discovered a backpack that he was in possession of that was full of both illicit drugs and piles of cash. Police say that in the backpack they found over 200 grams of meth, 63 grams of deadly fentanyl, 154 grams of crack cocaine, 228 suboxone strips and more than $17,500 in cash. The cash is suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.

In addition to the charges that he was already wanted on, Monroe will now also face additional charges of three counts of trafficking scheduled drugs, WMTW reported.

This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available to us.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
