Maine Sheriff’s Deputies Forced to Shoot Multiple Dogs During an Arrest
Multiple dogs that were attacking a Maine Sheriff's Deputy were shot on Thursday according to reports.
WGME 13 says that multiple deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office were at a home in Baldwin, Maine on Thursday morning because the people inside had outstanding warrants for their arrest.
While the deputies were at the home trying to gain access, the people inside let two dogs out. When that happened, one of the dogs bit down on a deputy and wouldn't release it's grip. That's when the first dog was shot.
After the first dog was shot, the second dog then began attacking that very same deputy, at that time the second dog was also shot. After the ordeal with the dogs, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office was then able to take Cory-Jo Bello and Samantha Bello into custody. The pair was then transported to the jail.
WGME is reporting that the dogs were taken to an area veterinarian but there is no word on their current condition or if they were even still alive when they arrived.
We will continue to keep this story updated as more information becomes available, including what charges the Bellos will be brought up on following their arrests.
