Several Snowstorms Set to Hit Maine, New Hampshire & Massachusetts Over The Next Five Days
For anyone that has been saying that Maine and New England have had a lackluster winter as far as snowfall amounts are concerned, I would tend to agree with you. Though it looks like that could all be changing pretty soon. Like tonight kind of pretty soon.
While the snow events that we have gotten so far this year have only produced a few inches of the white stuff at best, it looks like several systems that will produce snow will slam the region over the next five days or so.
According to an article by WGME News 13 in Portland, it all begins with temperatures dipping back down to their frigid levels. I mean, it was cool to wake up before the sun this morning and have the air in the low 30s, it was kinda nice, but it won't last.
As we wake up on Wednesday, we will be greeted with cold temperatures and falling snow. This initial snow system will move over the region Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. Experts believe that the Wednesday morning commute will be affected, so plan ahead, take it slow and leave a little early.
This first system will leave most of Greenville south with about 2-4 inches of snow and only a coating, maybe a bit more, from Greenville north.
The next system arrives over Maine on Friday afternoon and into the evening. As far as the intensity of the precipitation and how much we will get, it is still up in the air (pun intended).
Though WGME says in part about the Friday evening snowfall,
There is still considerable uncertainty with this forecast, but at this point it looks like mostly snow with possibly some rain mixing in in far southern Maine.
The next, and final storm, on the radar will move into the region during the evening and night on Sunday. WGME reports that the track of this particular storm hasn't been completely nailed down yet, so there is still some uncertainty on how much snow this will drop.
If it's going to snow this many times over the next 5 days, all I can say is I hope that it at least leaves us with enough snow for people to get out and enjoy, It seems like every other time it snows it's immediately followed by rain or warm temperatures.
