Maine State Police Urgently Looking For Missing 14-Year-Old Girl
Oftentimes when we share details about someone missing in Maine, it is an elderly person and usually involves a silver alert.
However, sometimes we deliver information on missing minors as well.
According to the Maine State Police, they are urgently trying to locate a missing girl from Parsonsfield, Maine.
The Maine State Police say that the missing girl, 14-year-old Kylie Townsend-Ireland, hasn't been seen since Monday, May 13, 2024.
Officials providing the information from the Maine State Police say that Kylie Townsend-Ireland was last seen wearing a black hoodie that had a purple butterfly on the back of it.
She is described as being about 5'6" and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System database, there are currently more than 24,000 open missing persons investigations in the United States.
As for Maine, NamUS reports there is 146 missing persons cases still open.
The United States Department of Justice says that you should "dial 911 or contact law enforcement immediately when a person younger than 21 years old disappears or if the missing person is at immediate risk of injury or death."
The department also notes that you should give as much info as you can about the missing person such as where they last where, where they like to go or who might be in contact with them. The more information the better.
