Maine State Police say a 19-year-old woman from Connecticut died following a crash in Falmouth Saturday afternoon.

According to Fox 23, troopers say they were called to the scene around 1:57 p.m. on the Falmouth Spur eastbound, near the on-ramp to I-295 north. Police say the driver, Joamaliz Orozco of East Hartford, Connecticut, left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail.

Orozco was transported to Maine Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to state police and the news station.

Investigators say Saturday’s weather and sloppy road conditions were likely factors in the crash. Police did not release additional details about what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, and the investigation remains ongoing, Fox explained.
