Starting July 10, Maine’s beloved Moxie Festival returns to Lisbon for its 42nd year, making this summer’s celebration an especially meaningful milestone. For more than four decades, the festival has brought together locals and visitors to celebrate one of Maine’s most recognizable traditions, and reaching 42 years is a testament to how deeply Moxie is woven into the state’s culture and identity.

This year’s theme, “Moments in History with Moxie,” highlights not only the long history of the iconic soft drink but also the memories and traditions the festival has created since it first began in 1982. In a state that takes pride in its unique heritage, the Moxie Festival has become much more than a community event, it’s one of Maine’s signature summer celebrations.

Held July 10–12, 2026, the three-day festival features food trucks, local vendors, live music, fireworks, Moxie merchandise, and plenty of opportunities to sample the famous soda. Most activities take place at Lisbon High School, while Sunday’s classic car show is held at Beaver Park.

Saturday remains the festival’s biggest day, featuring the Kids Fun Run, the 29th Annual Moxie 5K, and the Moxie Day Parade, often recognized as Maine’s longest parade. Fans can also enjoy crowd favorites like the whoopie pie eating contest and Moxie chugging contest. After 42 years, the Moxie Festival continues to be a major event in Maine, bringing generations together to celebrate a tradition that is proudly and uniquely Maine.
