New Hampshire Man Accused of Killing Grandmother With a Hammer
A New Hampshire man has been taken custody following allegations that he killed his elderly grandmother using a hammer.
According to a report from WGME 13, dispatchers in the town of Easton, New Hampshire received a call on Saturday in regards to a 'medical emergency'. New Hampshire State Police, along with emergency medical services, were dispatched to the home located on North Peak Drive.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found Cynthia Lanchester, 76, deceased. Police on scene reported that it was clearly evident that Lanchester had sustained what the called 'blunt force trauma'.
Police say that the woman's grandson, Joshua Lanchester, 23, was also at the scene when they arrived at the home. Police took Joshua Lanchester into custody and subsequently charged him with second-degree murder. Initial findings indicate that Lanchester used a hammer to allegedly kill his grandmother.
WGME reported on Monday morning that Lanchester is currently being held behind bars without bail and is likely to make his initial court appearance later today.
Easton, New Hampshire, is a very small town located in Grafton County. Easton is in the White Mountains region of the New Hampshire. A rural community, Easton has a small with a population of just over 200 people.
