A 15-year-old New Hampshire girl, who disappeared while on her way home from school nine months ago, is safely home with her family.

According to the Associated Press, the state attorney general said Abigail Hernandez was reunited with her family on Sunday (July 20) evening.

Police said Abigail was last seen Oct. 9 after leaving Kennett High School in Conway. Police say she walked her normal route toward home and sent several texts between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., but she never made it home.

Police did reveal several months ago that she had written home to her mother.

The investigation continues into how she disappeared and what she has been doing since.
