Olivia Newton-John says she's doing great and refutes tabloid rumors that say she's near death. The actress and singer smiled and joked during a short welcome to 2019 video on Twitter.

"I just want to say the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, to quote a very famous quote, and I’m doing great and I want to wish all of you the happiest, healthiest 2019 that’s possible," 70-year-old Newton-John says. It was Mark Twain who once said "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" after rumors began to circulate around the turn of the 19th century.

"Thank you all for the wonderful love and support for me and for my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia," she adds.

Radar Online had previously run a story claiming that she was "clinging on to life" to see her daughter get married in 2019.

Newton-John's video was shared on her Twitter page after 6PM on Wednesday and is her first tweet in two weeks. She appears thin, but vibrant and healthy, wearing a sapphire blue sweater over a black top. Newton-John is battling cancer once again. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, but beat it. She also was diagnosed in 2013 and then in May of 2018. The breast cancer spread to her back, forcing her to cancel tour dates and seek various forms of treatment.

In 1974, Newton-John won the CMA for Female Vocalist of the Year on the back of songs like "Let Me Be There" and "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)." In total she notched seven Top 10 country hits before starring in Grease with John Travolta and becoming a pop star.

Further clearing the singer's health status is her niece, Tottie Goldsmith, who shared a photo of the two of them on Instagram with this caption: "Just giving you the heads up that Livvy is in good health, so let’s leave that distressing rumor where it belongs."
