Only 1 Maine Spot Makes List of Best Places to See Fall Foliage in the United States
So these types of lists always provoke some type of emotion in me that's usually either anger in a WTF kind of way, or happiness because I agree.
There is no middle ground.
Especially not on this list of best places to see fall foliage in the United States that travel.usnews.com put together that only gave Maine one mention. Here comes the anger lol.
Top Places To See Fall Foliage In 2023
Acadia National Park in Maine (which is a given to us Mainers), made the cut out of 27 places listed. However, according to travel.usnews.com, that's the only location in our entire state they thought was worth mentioning during fall foliage season.
I mean, I think I speak for everybody in Maine when I say that's ludicrous.
Our entire state is basically one big destination for even the pickiest of "leaf peepers" to visit during the foliage season in October.
Yes, Acadia is a beautiful place to hike and see some views that only Maine seems to offer, but it also offers so many other places that deserve recognition on that damn list.
Right off the bat, I can name a few that were also mentioned in a more Maine-based list conducted by blog.trekaroo.com.
Here are just a few places where you can check out great fall foliage in Maine.
Moosehead Lake
Mt. Kahtahdin
Rangeley State Park
