Police Searching for Man Who Allegedly Opened Fire at Passing Vehicles in Lewiston, Maine, Causing Crash
It was a very scary situation that unfolded Saturday evening in the heart of Lewiston, Maine, when shots rang out in a city neighborhood followed by the sounds of a crashing car.
According to an article published by WGME 13, Lewiston police responded to reports of shots fired on Saturday evening in the vicinity of 109 Pierce Street. When police arrived, they found a vehicle that had driven off of the road and crashed.
The driver says that a pedestrian on Pierce Street opened fire on their vehicle causing them to drive off the road and crash, according to the news station.
Fortunately, the driver was not struck by any of the rogue gunfire, WGME reported, though they did receive some injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
At this time, police do not have a suspect in custody, though they are asking for the public's help in the matter.
Lewiston police said that as of Monday morning, they are looking for a male suspect, but don't have much else to go on, according to WGME.
