I know I’m a day late but yesterday on February 27, 11 years ago we lost Fred Rogers. He was a children’s television host, Presbyterian minister and author among other talents.

Mr. Rogers was diagnosed with stomach cancer in December of 2002 and died on February 27, 2003 only two months later. I didn’t realize how quick he was taken after his diagnosis, it's really quite sad.

Let’s focus more on his legacy. Of course he had the long running TV series ‘Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood’. The show ran from 1968 to 2001, an incredible 33 years!

He wrote songs and a number of children’s books. He also won a whole cabinet or two of awards throughout his lifetime. He was quite the individual.

On Netflix  in 2014 and probably somewhere on TV is now ‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood’ which is close to the original 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood' and a show Vikki is addicted to, that along with the movie 'The Lorax' and 'Spongebob....'
