The Augusta Dog Park had it first annual Winter Fun Day this past Sunday . As a founding member of the Augusta Dog Park committee of course I was there to support the committee, the park and City of Augusta for doing this and it was...perfect!
The one thing that could not be planned was the weather, but it was so nice. Sunday was sunny and warm. So this event was the perfect place to come and just enjoy the dogs, people, snacks and fun.
The Augusta Rotary Club was there to support the day. One of the things that I think gets forgotten after all these years, the Augusta Dog Park was a gift to Augusta from the Augusta Rotary Club. I will always be grateful for the Augusta Rotary for that gift.
There was food, the Kennebec Valley Humane Society was there to talk about adoption. There were dog sled demos AND the Augusta Police, Fire and Rescue were all around to have some fun with the kids on the sledding hill a Mill Park.
The Kennebec Journal sent over a reporter and photographer to cover the event (Thank you KJ), so now Shadow had conquered radio, tv and now the print media. He is a superstar!
Check out the centramaine.com story and the picture of ShadowDog in the scroll of images. ShadowDog and I are picture number 4!
The Augusta Dog Park Committee would LOVE to have some new members of loving dog park parents. Voting members of the committee do need to be Augusta residents but if you use the Augusta Dog Park and are not an Augusta resident you are still welcome to be part of the team.
I always felt being on the committee was like my version of the PTA!
