UPDATE: 1:25 p.m. According to CentralMaine.com, police have said there is "no active kidnapping in the Litchfield area. The report said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety,confirmed there is an active State Police presence in the area, but not active kidnapping.

According to a report from CentralMaine.com, police are in the area of Dead River and South Adams roads in Litchfield in connection with a reported kidnapping.
