Is This One of Maine’s Most Underrated Apple Orchards? This Family Farm Has Been Around for 63 Years
Maine is FULL of places to visit once fall rolls around. Apple orchards, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, there are honestly so many that it can be hard to keep track of them all.
When we asked our followers about their favorite Maine orchards, places like Wallingford’s came up over and over again. And for good reason! But it got us thinking… what about the underrated ones?
One Maine Orchard That Deserves More Attention
Royal River Orchards in New Gloucester might be one of them.
This family-run apple orchard has been around since 1963, 63 years, three generations, and one Maine family.
And one of the best parts? You’re not dealing with the huge crowds you’ll find at some of Maine’s bigger orchards. Royal River actually describes itself as a spacious farm where families have plenty of elbow room to pick apples and explore.
You can pick McIntosh, Cortland and Red Delicious apples, grab some sweet treats, take a wagon ride, and make an afternoon out of it.
And Yes, There’s a Corn Maze
Because what’s a fall day with the kids without a corn maze?
Royal River has a non-scary corn maze that’s kid-friendly, making this one feel like such an easy family fall outing.
So, is Royal River one of Maine’s most underrated orchards? We think it might be.
