If you’re a pizza person, St. George Pizza in Warren, Maine, is one of those places that immediately gets your attention. First off, the pizza is square. And we’re not talking about just cutting a regular pizza differently.

NYC Sicilian-Style Pizza in Maine

This is NYC Sicilian-style pizza, thick, square slices with that crispy bottom and plenty of cheese and toppings, right here on the St. George River in Maine.

That alone makes this place a little different. But what really caught my eye was the gluten-free pizza.

Yes, Even the Gluten-Free Pizza Is Square

Usually when you hear “gluten-free pizza,” you picture that little round personal-size crust that looks completely different from what everyone else at the table is eating.

Not here.

St. George Pizza makes its gluten-free dough in-house, and the pizza is square, just like the rest of their Sicilian-style pies.

And it actually looks GOOD.

This Doesn’t Look Like an Afterthought

That’s what I love about it. The gluten-free option doesn’t look like an afterthought or something they pulled out of the freezer because somebody asked for it. It looks like pizza you’d order because you genuinely want to eat it, square, cheesy, substantial and different from the typical gluten-free pizza you see everywhere else.

NYC Sicilian-style square pizza on the St. George River is already a pretty fun find. Add a housemade, square gluten-free pizza that looks this good, and St. George Pizza definitely gives you another reason to stop in when you’re in Warren.
