Thank you to Peter Geiger, the editor and philom (that means lover of learning) of the Farmers’ Almanac, the one with the orange and green cover, I have been spending some quality time with the Farmers’ Almanac. He got a copy for me while I was working at home. (Thank you Peter for that, you are my hero)

But as we made it through the spring with the coronavirus and ALL its implications as well as a May snowstorm and some chilly June temperatures it is time to think summer. It like it will not be a traditional Maine summer.  We are not expecting as many out of state vacationers and maybe your travel plans are on hold or just flat out cancelled. We can staycation in Vacationland.

Just remember the old saying ‘if you don’t like the weather in Maine just wait a minute.  Things can change a lot in a span of a few summer Maine days.

So what to expect for summer 2020 in Maine…he is what the Farmers’ Almanac had to say. Summer hits just Saturday June 20, 2020 at 5:44 pm.

To sum it up for the northeast…our summer is predicted to be hot and with average precipitation. I am ok with that, thank you very much.

Our hurricane season started as of June 1st.  The Farmers’ Almanac said things should be quite for summer and be more active in September. So that is good news for all us. We have had enough issues already this year, amirite?

PS  Here is the list of hurricane names from weather.com we are using for 2020.
