I've lived in the capital area my entire life and I've never seen the dome on the Capitol building anything but baby-puke green! This is the color it is suppose to be...the color God intended copper to be. It's just that the elements wreak havoc on the metal and, after a while, it gets snot green again (sorry about the verbiage, but you have to admit, while not very pleasant, it IS descriptive).
If you've been in Augusta near the State House, you've probably noticed that construction is underway on the century-old copper encasing of the dome. Lawmakers are getting a lot of questions about what will happen with the old metal.
