I'm not shocked because celebrities do some wild and crazy things. This is just a few days after a paparazzo died chasing Justin Bieber's Ferrari. Now, Justin Bieber looks to be smoking up.
Colorado and Washington just became the first two states to legalize recreational use of marijuana. Now a lawmaker in Maine and lawmaker from Rhode Island say they would like to enact similar laws in their states. Money would be saved on the arresting, prosecuting and the jail cost of marijuana offenses. Plus, taxes raised from it would help out.
One of the biggest stories out of last week's election was that voters in Colorado and Washington State chose to legalize marijuana. States like California had previously approved medical marijuana, but Colorado and Washington are the first to also approve cannabis for recreational use.
Colorado voted to legalize smoking marijuana Tuesday, but the governor warned those excited by this new law to not to "break out the Cheetos or Goldfish" just yet. You see, the federal government still takes a dim view of pot. The odds are there will be some legal challenges to the new law. And when that happens, the law gets put on hold until the legal stuff gets sorted out.
Three states have recreational marijuana measures on their ballots next month. The obvious question is, how would you feel about a similar initiative in Maine?
So Chris Brown tested positive for marijuana. He says he used it in California where he has a medical marijuana card. Being honest or not is irrelevant here. My question is for employers who hire and other organizations who drug test. Do people who use legal marijuana get a pass?
