Laura Benedict (I call her the "amazing chickeneer," because of the way she engineers bits of tender chicken into a kind of "poultry crack" product), is getting ready to start another season of raising big money with her Red Barn Cares Foundation.

This past summer while riding a motorcycle to raise money for the Shriner's Children's Hospital, our Augusta Police Chief, Robert (Bob) Gregoire, was seriously injured in an accident. While the chief's wife, Cathy, along with Sgt. Chris Shaw, were also injured in the two bike crash, it was Bob who was most critically hurt. He sustained a neck injury that has left him partially paralyzed.

Erica Sawtelle is a mom struggling with trying to keep her spirits up even while her little boy, Connor (22 months old today) battles a serious illness.

Four area chefs will compete at this awesome event which raises money for Spectrum Generation' Meals on Wheels program! Laura Benedict from the Red Barn will be the keynote speaker. Listen to her and Jamie on the Moose Morning Show!

It's sure to be a good time at Cony High School's Alumni Field on Saturday with a fun day/benefit for the Lucas Family. Ben Lucas, star football player of the state class A champion Cony Rams, played for the team and the community on that field. On Saturday, the team and community will come out for his family, specifically, his mom Allison, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Laura Benedict and her Red Barn Cares team have gotten a hold of several great Stephen King movies for a two night marathon, August 1st and 2nd, at the Skowhegan Drive-In.

Laura Benedict, owner of Augusta's popular Red Barn Restaurant, had quite a weekend.
